Community Leadership Grant

The City of Albany aims to assist outstanding community leaders achieve excellence in their chosen field by providing funding to access competitions or high level professional development opportunities.

This is a small grant program with funding limited up to $500 for individuals and $1000 for groups. Applications will be assessed according to specific criteria, and if successful, require a grant acquittal upon completion.

Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) and 'The Club Night Lights Program'.

The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to community groups and local government authorities to develop basis infrastructure for Sport and Recreation.

The program aims to increase participation in Sport and Recreation, with an emphasis on physical activity, through rational development of sustainable, good quality, well-designed and well utilised facilities.

CSRFF Annual / Forward Planning Grant Round:

  • Projects over $300,000
  • Opens: 1st June 2023. Closes: 30th September 2023

CSRFF Small Grant Round:

  • Projects from $2,500 to $300,000
  • Opens: 1st February  2023. Closes: 31st March 2023

'New' Club Night Lights Program:

  • Projects up to $3 million (maximum grant amount being $1 million)
  • New grant round to fund lighting upgrade projects!
  • Opens: To be advised.

Kidsport

Kidsport vouchers have increased to one voucher of $300 per eligible child per financial year to help families reconnect through sport. 

You can now use Kidsport vouchers towards Swim Lessons.

Kidsport vouchers can be used for registration/membership fees at any Kidsport approved club. All voucher codes have a 90-day expiry from date of approval, both vouchers may be used at the same club during the calendar year.

KidSport encourages parents with eligible Western Australian children aged 5-18 years to participate in community sport and recreation activities by offering them financial assistance towards club fees (this does not cover uniform or equipment).

KidSport is available online for parents to register their eligibility. Parents will be required to submit an online KidSport application form, also to provide a copy of their valid Health Care or Pensioner Concession card.

KidSport no longer has referral agents, applicants without a valid concession card need to meet one of the new Financial Expectations. If you meet a financial expectation, you can apply for KidSport through the KidSport Financial Assessor.

Kidsport FAQ’s

KidSport funding will not be refunded if fees have already been paid;

Vouchers must be validated by completing the online application. You will then receive a unique code to present to the KidSport Club;

Funds are paid to the Club not to the applicant;

There is no limit to how many children in a family that can apply for the funding provided they meet the eligibility criteria.

Kidsport Clubs

Clubs will need to be registered with the City of Albany before completed vouchers can be sent to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for payment.
